Private tutor in Villa Park, CA

Experience
In high school I began tutoring my friends in AP Biology, AP Chemistry, and AP Physics, eventually co-founding a club to offer peer tutoring services. At UC-Berkeley I was a private and group tutor for students in organic chemistry, general biology, immunology, microbiology, and virology. My interest in tutoring stems from the visible transformation that takes place from a students first session to their last. I thoroughly enjoy seeing the " Ah hah!" moment when all the material finally clicks for them. As a tutor I strive to distance myself from didactic lectures and focus on going through the subject with the student to identify their strengths and weaknesses. Listed below are grades I received from some courses. My final undergrad GPA was a 3.57 and my upper division GPA was a 3.96. Biochemistry- A- General Biology- A- Immunology- A Graduate Immunology- A Immunology lab-A Microbiology-A Virology- A+ Host-Pathogen Interactions- A+ Genetics- A AP Biology-5 Additionally I have over 3 years of experience working in immunology research that gives me extra understanding of how immunology, microbiology, and biochemistry interact.

Hobbies
My scientific interests include host-pathogen interactions, translational research, and global health. Currently, I am interested in how the evolution of parasitic worms and their symbiotic bacterial allows for novel drug targets. Outside of science I enjoy long distance running and was a competitive athlete in high school. My favorite TV shows include South Park, Planet Earth, and Game of Thrones. I am trying to learn the computer science language, python, and am on a quest to find Orange County's best taqueria before I move to the midwest.
